To generate buzz to coincide with the launch of its first scripted mini-series Klondike, Discovery Channel ran a Watch to Win Sweepstakes tied to the show’s on-air premiere and the Premiere Party Sweeps on Facebook. Three Grand Prizes of $50,000 cash were awarded, plus one lucky winner attended the red-carpet Klondike Premiere Party in New York City! TV by the Numbers estimated that 9.3 million viewers tuned into the show over the three nights.
